SILVER SPRING PROGRESSIVE ACTION

Protect This House (of Representatives)! Join us in supporting these Democratic “Sweet 16” House members & challengers* who fight for ideals like fairness, justice, healthcare, and education, and against corruption, hate, and division. They are ALL in tight toss-up elections. They stood up for us in voting for impeachment when it could cost them their seats, so let’s pay it back!

Your donation will be divided equally among the 16 candidates unless you designate differently (e.g., a $400 donation would mean $25 per candidate). Please give generously. Thank you!

NOPE NEIGHBORS

Support NOPE's Democracy Defenders

In June, we are moving from supporting PA state legislative races to raising money for U.S. Congressional races. We selected four House of Representative candidates from PA who can help to:
1) flip the PA state legislature
2) defend or flip U.S. House seats, and
3) flip PA electoral college votes back to blue.
But defending our House is not enough. We need to flip the Senate too. That's why we are supporting North Carolina’s Cal Cunningham to unseat Senator Tom Tillis. This is an important race; the analysts rate it as a toss-up; NC has many electoral college votes,; we can flip the state legislature.

Please give generously to NOPE’s Democracy Defenders: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/nope4democracydefenders
And if you have not yet given to our May fundraiser for NOPE’s Flipping Five PA state legislative candidates, please do so now: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/nope4pa
For more information about NOPE’s strategy in selecting the Democracy Defenders, read our Defending Our Democracy Up and Down the Ballot 2020 strategy and review our NOPE Targeting Analysis House, Senate & Battlegrounds as of 5.28.2020.

31st Street Swing Left

31st Street has posted recommendations for donations to a slate of “sweet spot” statehouse candidates in North Carolina.  Find them here.  We are also fundraising to produce digital ads for each candidate in the slate (great to introduce candidates to voters during a pandemic!).  Our digital ad fundraising initiative is described here.

A consortium of grassroots groups in Maryland and Pennsylvania is funding production of compelling "bio" ads that can be shared on social media. These ads will be very useful for improved candidate recognition and fundraising. The ads will be made by Chris Bachman, who is already hard at work on 31st Street-funded bio ads for NC candidates. (Check out Aimy Steele’s new bio ad).  The first candidate for whom we're raising money for an ad is Brittney Rodas (HD 105).

Consider a donation in lieu of door-knocking.  If we all give only what we would have otherwise spent for a day in the field, we’ll have the funds needed in no time: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/padigitalads

TurnPABlue

Republicans in the PA House have denied climate change, passed draconian abortion bans, and hope to gerrymander their way into keeping power.

Let’s flip the chamber by supporting 7 red-to-blue candidates that need your help.

Turn PA Blue supporters have given over $10,000 to PA House candidates this year -- and now that our candidates can’t canvass or campaign in-person, they need money more than ever to run ads and send mail.

Three of our candidates are School Board members fighting for our teachers and students:

Lindsay Drew (PA-HD106) is a Derry Township School Board director, mother, and small business owner who will fight for our public schools. She will hold charter schools accountable. Chip in to Lindsey's campaign.

Jonathan Kassa (PA-HD151) is a father of two and North Penn School Board director running to flip a district Trump lost by 14. He has worked for years to reduce crime on campuses through technology. Chip in to Jonathan's campaign.

Paul Friel (PA-HD26) is an Owen J Roberts School Board director that owns PACE Environmental, an environmental testing and engineering firm. Chip in to Paul's campaign.

And we’re supporting four more candidates who will fight for us:

Gary Spillane (PA-HD144) is challenging a Bucks County Republican that won re-election by just 590 votes. Gary employs 12 at his small business and will fight for living wages for all workers. Chip in to Gary's campaign.

Brittney Rodas (PA-HD105) is a Young Democrat and mother of two toddlers. Her opponent sponsored a bill criminalizing abortion at 6 weeks, before many women know they're pregnant. Chip in to Brittney's campaign.

Kevin Branco (PA-HD131) is a business owner, community organizer, father, and former Kutztown University football player. He's running in an open Republican seat! Chip in to Kevin's campaign.

Joanna Bryn Smith (PA-HD120) works for Luzerne County providing legal representation for those that can't afford an attorney. Her opponent has a 0% rating from Planned Parenthood. Chip in to Joanna's campaign.

Chip in $1 or more directly to 7 red-to-blue candidates for PA House, and TPAB’s work electing them.
